Collection: Natalie Sidner

Hi, I’m Natalie. My journey as an artist has been an interesting one. Although I don’t recall, my mom says I used to sit at the kitchen table and draw all day when I was about 2 years old. In the 80s, I went through the Old Donation art program in Va Beach — and I’m really thankful for that privilege, as it was stimulating and foundational. I won numerous awards in various grade school and high school competitions, and then I went on to major in Studio Art at UVA.

I’ve worked in logo design, mural painting, figure drawing, colored pencil, graphite, ink, lettering & typography, and I’ve produced almost two dozen camera-ready art (there’s an 80s and 90s term for sure!) for professionally printed t-shirts.

In the past decade I’ve become obsessed with sea glass, and I’ve spent over a thousand hours glass-hunting and creating art from what I find. In Sept 2023, I exhibited a large mosaic in an art show at the Slover Library in downtown Norfolk. I’m also a very active member of the Norfolk Drawing Group as both a model and artist.

I’m excited to be a part of Norfolk Academy’s 40th Field Day Art Show.
