Collection: Brook Avery

After 20 years away from the easel, Brook Avery has returned with a renewed sense of creativity and art making. A process-oriented painter currently working predominantly in acrylics, Brook is rediscovering and reimagining her artistic style. With a focus on color and texture, she finds her way around the canvas intuitively and joyfully in keeping with her understanding of art as a therapeutic modality.
A native of Virginia Beach and graduate of The College of William & Mary with a minor in studio art, Brook studied art therapy at Eastern Virginia Medical School, earning an MS degree in 1996. Her work has been exhibited locally in the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival and the Norfolk Academy Field Day Art Gallery.
